Urban Contemporary artist Cindy Munyavi shared her story about how she started recording in 2004.
She wrote on her timeline, “I started recording in 2004. The first time I was played on radio was on Power FM. My first song to be played on Power FM Zimbabwe was titled Staera. I composed and sung the chorus. The song belonged to ExQ and featured Cindy Munyavi and Leonard Mapfumo. I am forever grateful to these 2 brothers of mine for that stepping stone, ndaitangira papi nhai. I was just a teenager with a dream. Take 5 was our Producer! I thought this song would make it to Chamhembe vol 2🙈.. Staera was featured on @ExQ’s first album titled Exquisite which feature tracks like Mazirudo and Ndichakutevera.”
