Ruva was born in Melbourne Australia. Family background is Zimbabwean, which she is very proud of. “Growing up I was surrounded by Zimbabweans who taught me the language”.
“I have one brother, a step dad who is essentially my father and an inspiring mother who is a lawyer and runs her own business. She is some serious black girl magic.”
“I was first introduced to music studying classical violin in primary school and then I studied music at the Victorian College of Arts where I was surrounded by gifted musicians which helped mould me into the singer I am today. A lot of training and sacrifice has gone into my craft.”
“Singing for me is similar to eating. It’s something that happens naturally daily. Walking to the station, in the shower, cooking, and at work. I am always singing, it’s a part of my lifestyle.”
“I would never say I am part of any genre as a singer. I can really sing anything because of my training. I love RnB, pop, Afro beats and dancehall. So I feel my music will always gravitate there. My music is easy to listen to danceable catchy and at times soulful.”
