The Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Jenfan Muswere has reportedly dismissed the state-owned Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) board, while getting two television presenters suspended over scandalously crass remarks on a recent programme, saying colonialism was justified to some extent and buccaneering Ndebele King Lobengula Khumalo sold the country for sugar to imperial Britain.
A ZBC Presenter, Victoria Manase, last week blamed colonial-era abuses on black people by whites on 1800s Ndebele King Lobengula, further stating he had been enticed by sugar.
Manase said this live on national television while hosting Wednesday’s Good Morning Zimbabwe (GMZ). Next thing, the information minister sacks zbc board.
