Antum Naqvi of the Rhinos cricket team made history at Takashinga Cricket Club by becoming the first player to score a triple-century for any Zimbabwean team. He became the first to break Zimbabwe’s domestic first-class record for the highest individual score by a batsman.Naqvi reached 250 on the previous day and continued his remarkable performance, reaching 300 just before lunch.
Along the way, he broke several records, surpassing Cephas Zhuwao’s record Logan Cup score of 265 and Ray Gripper’s highest individual score for any Zimbabwean team of 279. Additionally, Naqvi went beyond Brian Davison’s 299, which was scored before the Logan Cup became a first-class competition. Naqvi’s 300 not out included 10 sixes and 30 fours, and he faced 295 balls over 444 minutes.
