Today marks the somber sixth anniversary of the passing of Morgan Tsvangirai, the Zimbabwean opposition and pro-democracy leader who succumbed to cancer in South Africa.
Despite humble beginnings, Tsvangirai’s authenticity and humility were his greatest assets. He openly acknowledged his limitations, even humorously referring to himself as a “tea-boy” due to his modest education credentials.
In honoring Tsvangirai’s memory today, let us reflect on his unwavering commitment to democratic change and fighting the challenges faced by Zimbabweans.
