Tragedy struck on Saturday night when a vehicle carrying 12 passengers and overloaded, overturned on the Rutenga-Zvishavane Road in central Zimbabwe. The devastating accident resulted in the loss of two lives and left six individuals injured, according to authorities.
The incident unfolded around 8:10 p.m. at a location approximately 140 km south of Masvingo, the provincial capital, as detailed in a statement released by the police. The driver of the Toyota Fun Cargo vehicle reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to swerve off the road and flip onto its left side. The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation.
The deceased, whose identities were withheld, were transported to Zvishavane District Hospital for post-mortem examinations. Those injured in the crash were admitted to the same medical facility for necessary treatment, with four passengers luckily escaping unharmed.
