Two children electrocuted in their sleep

In a tragic incident in Kuwadzana 5, Harare, two children were electrocuted in their sleep as a result of an electrical malfunction.

The victims, identified as Junior Makwindi (4) and Tinotenda Tineyi Maketo (6), lost their lives due to the electric shock from a malfunctioning refrigerator, according to a statement from National Police Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi.

Concurrently, authorities in Rusape are conducting an investigation into a separate incident of baby abandonment at Vengere Clinic.

“Police in Rusape are currently probing a case of infant abandonment after a newborn baby boy was discovered abandoned on a flower bed at Vengere Clinic on February 18, 2024,” mentioned Asst Comm Nyathi.

He further urged anyone with pertinent information regarding the matter to come forward and provide assistance, emphasizing the importance of reporting to the nearest police station.
