At the age of 16 years and 243 days, Trey Nyoni has made history by becoming Liverpool’s youngest ever player to appear in the FA Cup.
Born in the UK to Zimbabwean parents, Trey Nyoni has represented England at junior ranks but is still eligible to switch this allegiance to Zimbabwe.
Nyoni, who was born four days before Fernando Torres signed for Liverpool in 2007, signed for the Reds in September from Championship side Leicester City.
Shortly after being promoted to the under-21s in early November, the teenager received a call-up to Jurgen Klopp’s squad for their Premier League game against Brentford.
And after months of waiting, Nyoni made history on Wednesday, when he replaced Harvey Elliott in the 78th minute of Liverpool’s 3-0 win against Southampton.
