Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) has been issued a minimal penalty of a US$200 fine for its involvement in the tragic electrocution incident that resulted in the death of a Buhera man on March 3, 2022.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe verified the details of the case, which were presented at the Murambinda Magistrates Court. The prosecuting authority has expressed intentions to challenge the leniency of the sentence.
According to court proceedings, Havatendi Kangetsambo met his untimely demise due to electrocution caused by exposed wire cables in a farm paddock, resulting in his immediate passing.
