Job Description:

POST: Graduate Trainee-Systems analyst

The Graduate Trainee is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues for library users and staff. They also work closely with other library personnel to ensure smooth operations of the library’s technology systems. Responsibilities:

Maintains and troubleshoots library hardware, including computers, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.

Provide technical support for the Koha Integrated Library System across all library units on campus.

Develop new software applications needed by the Library.

Installs, configures, and maintains software applications, operating systems, and other technology systems.

Undertake data-driven evaluation of new and existing services and products to ensure their effectiveness and inform future decisions

Troubleshoots software issues.

Supports users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.

Keeps records and logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule.

Assists and supports students with IT-related queries.

Guides on potential new library systems and suggest enhancements to existing systems.

Ensures that there is network connectivity on all library computers.

Assist with planning and implementing new technology initiatives.

Develops and maintains technical documentation, including user manuals and standard operating procedures.

 

Qualifications and Experience

BSc in Computer Science OR Computer Engineering

The candidate must be below 28 years of age

At least 1-year working experience in programming, systems/ software development.
