Nine-year-old Zimbabwean model, Aiden Murambidzi will represent Africa at the Little Miss and Mister World competition set for the United States of America in August after winning the continental title at the weekend.
Aiden Murambidzi, who wowed judges at the just-ended Little Mister and Miss Africa in Nigeria, bagged six titles including the top gong.
He is now set to represent Africa at the world contest slated for August.
The nine-year-old Harare-based model is excited after outshining more than 30 other contestants from across the continent.
“I am so happy that I won. I have six prices. The competition was tough, but I managed to win. They told me I am going to America where I will show them what I can do. This is my first international pageant and I won,” he said.
Aiden’s mother, Indra Chinyerere is equally excited as attention shifts to the global event.
“I am happy, Aiden started modelling at four months as a commercial model. People approached me for him to advertise their clothes since then, he has been doing this and that is how Little Mister Africa Zimbabwe identified him. He contested in the country and won. So now we will start preparing for the big stage and I know he will make it.”
Aiden also bagged other titles including Mr Popularity, Best Talent, Mr Photogenic and Multimedia.
Eight-year-old Tamar Muchineuta from Harare and six-year-old Masvingo-bred Dellish Masango also represented the country at the same pageant.
Tamar won four crowns and bagged the Innovate Queen title while Princess Dillish was voted Miss Africa’s second runner-up.
10 African countries participated at the event meant to celebrate cultural diversity through pageantry.
