A suspected food poisoning incident at Maneta Primary School resulted in the death of one student, Tanya Chipo, and hospitalized 60 others. The students had consumed a meal of sadza and soya chunks prepared by five parents as part of the school’s feeding program.
The students began vomiting shortly after the meal and were rushed to Chimbudzi Clinic for treatment. While most were discharged, 14 required intravenous fluids.
