The footage shows the Chinese manager tying up local workers and hoisting them into the air with a loader bucket, allegedly in response to suspicions of diesel theft. The Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF) has strongly condemned the incident, describing it as “inhumane” and “savage”. The ZMF is demanding immediate action against the Chinese national responsible, including arrest and prosecution, as well as a thorough investigation into labor practices at Makanga Mine.
