Noleen Karumazondo was born and raised in the dusty streets of Harare; Zimbabwe and moved to South Africa in August 2016. She currently lives in Cape Town, where she embraces diverse cultural activities that inspire her artworks and ideas.
The artist is skilled in several different mediums and art forms which include murals, fine art, clothes customization and portrait painting. You can find her art in numerous private collections and collaborations with other businesses.
Her artworks evoke a sense of birth and renewal. They embody a strong feeling of the primordial and dynamic forces of nature, humanity and our connection to its miraculous energy and diversity.
Noleen studied visual arts with the University of South Africa. She has worked with Doctors Without Borders, painting murals about covid 19 vaccine around Khayelitsha.She was also chosen in Africa to do the illustration of world TB day by MSF Lebanon. She worked with Foschini from the beginning of 2021, customizing clothes.She currently paints life size colourful portraits of African women. Recently got Commissioned by Zanele Muholi who is one of her major inspirations. Her work is also found in a certain number of lodges, private home spaces and businesses. She is also currently working with Benguela Cove Gallery in Hermanus.
