Our #WCW today is the incredible Sharon Mlotshwa!
Sharon was born in Zimbabwe and grew up with a passion for entrepreneurship. Her childhood was filled with curiosity and a drive to succeed. She attended primary and secondary school in Zimbabwe, where she excelled academically and developed a strong foundation for her future. Sharon then pursued higher education, graduating with a degree in Business Administration.
After college, Sharon worked in various industries, gaining valuable experience and skills that would later shape her entrepreneurial spirit. She eventually moved to the United States, where she saw new opportunities and challenges. This move proved to be a turning point in her life, as she began to explore her true potential.
Sharon founded SMC Platinum, a Namibia-registered company specializing in manufacturing and real estate. She also launched Malaika Cosmetics, a subsidiary supplying high-quality products to hotels. Her businesses flourished, earning her recognition as a leading entrepreneur. Her achievements include being ranked among the 100 most influential young Africans, winning Sub-Saharan Entrepreneur of the Year in 2023, receiving the Africa Under 40 CEO Award in 2024, and being listed as one of the 50 Most Influential Global Leaders in 2023.
Sharon is dedicated to empowering Zimbabweans in the diaspora, encouraging them to stay connected to their roots and contribute to the country’s growth. She inspires young women and entrepreneurs worldwide with her story, showing that with perseverance and dedication, anything is possible.
