In a significant legal setback, popular Zimbabwean social media influencers Tytie and Kiki have lost a defamation case against Moreboys Munetsi in the high court. The court ruled in favor of Munetsi, ordering the duo to pay 2 Million rand in damages.

The case stemmed from a Facebook Live video in which Tytie and Kiki allegedly made defamatory statements against Munetsi, a legal representative. Munetsi claimed that the statements damaged his reputation and sought compensation.

The controversy began when Tytie and Kiki reported fellow content creators Nyathi and Mai Nyathi’s Facebook page, leading to the suspension of its monetization. Munetsi was appointed to mediate the dispute but was allegedly harassed by Tytie and Kiki’s followers after they posted his contact information online.
