On April 19, 1980, Bob Marley and the Wailers performed an unforgettable show in front of 100,000 fans at Rufaro Stadium in Harare. The energy was electric, and the crowd was mesmerized by Marley’s soulful voice and captivating stage presence.

The day before, on April 18th, Marley sang his powerful song “Zimbabwe” at the country’s first independence celebrations. This momentous occasion marked a new era for Zimbabwe, and Marley’s performance was a fitting tribute to the country’s struggle for freedom.

Just a year after his historic performance in Zimbabwe, Bob Marley’s life was cut short when he succumbed to cancer at the age of 36. His passing was a devastating loss for the music world and his fans globally.
