The Tsholotsho San community is gearing up to showcase their vibrant cultural traditions at the Ibhoro Cultural Festival, held at the Tsholotsho business centre. This exciting event, led by the Tsoro-o-tso San Development Trust, aims to preserve the ancient customs and language of the Tjwa, or San people.
The festival will put the spotlight on the significance of the Ibhoro dance in safeguarding San culture, which has faced challenges due to historical migrations and cultural shifts. Through song and dance, the event will highlight the crucial role of cultural practices in preventing language loss and celebrate the San community’s dedication to preserving their heritage.
The Ibhoro Festival will also delve into the San people’s unique relationship with nature through their totem system, ensuring the continuation of their traditions for generations to come.
