Dabengwa made his First-class debut for Matabeleland in 2000 and later represented Zimbabwe in international cricket. Throughout his career, he achieved notable milestones, including taking 5 wickets for 76 on his First-class debut and scoring his only First-class century, 161 against Midlands.
He also holds the record for best bowling figures in First-class cricket, taking 7 for 1 in a Logan Cup match. After retiring from playing, Dabengwa transitioned to coaching, and was appointed head coach of the Denmark national cricket team in October 2021, a role he currently holds.
