In a stunning revelation, Khama Billiat, the skilled midfielder, has confessed to a surprising detour from his football career. In a recent interview, Billiat shared that he once traded his football boots for a CD burner, abandoning the pitch to pirate music onto memory cards.
This unexpected turn of events occurred around 2008, a time when Billiat’s football career seemed to be at a standstill. With circumstances not favoring him, he made the difficult decision to step away from the sport. It was during this hiatus that Billiat explored the unconventional world of music piracy.
“I had surrendered the game altogether… I started ‘burning’ music on memory cards instead,” Billiat admitted.
However, Billiat’s brief foray into music piracy ultimately proved to be a pivotal moment in his football journey. After a period of self-discovery, he returned to the sport he loved, and CAPS United welcomed him with open arms.
Under the guidance of President Farai Jere and Coach Lloyd Chitembwe, Billiat rediscovered his passion and honed his skills. The club provided a nurturing environment that allowed him to flourish, and he has since become an integral part of the team.
“CAPS United made me who I am,” Billiat expressed, crediting the club for his success.
