Khama Billiat’s jersey sales have set new records in Zimbabwe, bringing in an impressive USD $120,000 (R2.1 million) for his club, Yadah FC. This money will support women’s football by sponsoring the Heart League for USD $320,000.
“As the Heart Group of Companies, we took the money generated from the jersey sales $120,000 and agreed to invest it all into the women’s league. We were able to make it $320,000 because we had funds set aside to help the cause of the girl child since the start of the season,” said Magaya.
Magaya revealed to FARPost that he took immense pride in endorsing the acquisition of Khama Billiat, stressing that his recommendation go beyond mere championship ambitions.
“It felt good to advise the club’s leadership to sign Billiat, not because we wanted to win the league, but because I had seen something beyond winning the championship with this move.
“People really like Billiat, and I knew we were going to recoup everything from the jersey sales. I’m grateful to all the businessmen who supported the vision, as it was all the girl child needed.
