Peter Ndlovu, Zimbabwe Warriors’ all-time leading scorer, has made an impassioned plea to former national team captain Knowledge Musona to reconsider his international retirement. Ndlovu, who holds the record with 38 goals in 100 caps, believes Musona has the potential to surpass his tally and cement his legacy. Musona retired in May 2022 with 24 goals in 49 appearances, but Ndlovu is convinced that with 10 more games, the talented forward can exceed his record.

Ndlovu’s appeal comes as new Warriors coach Michael Nees reportedly reaches out to Musona, seeking to persuade him to return to international duty. The legendary forward expressed his desire for Musona to continue playing for the national team, highlighting the confidence and experience he brings. Ndlovu’s comments were made in response to former teammate Khama Billiat’s post on X, where he thanked Ndlovu for his influence. Ndlovu responded, “We hope Knowledge can give us another 10 games so that he surpasses the record goals.”

The potential return of Musona would be a significant boost to the Warriors’ squad, which is seeking to strengthen its ranks. With Musona’s experience playing for top clubs like Kaizer Chiefs and currently in Saudi Arabia, his presence could inspire a new generation of players. Ndlovu’s call may just be the motivation Musona needs to reconsider his retirement and etch his name in Zimbabwean football history.
