An electric flying taxi capable of reaching speeds of 200mph was unveiled in the UK. The futuristic vehicle, which is silent and electrically powered, was on display at Charing Cross, London, until October 16. Commuters had the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the innovative transportation technology, set to revolutionize urban travel.
The flying taxi is part of a larger plan to introduce citywide taxi services in the United Arab Emirates by 2026. The UAE’s vertiport system will enable the taxis to fly at speeds of up to 200mph, reducing congestion and emissions. Boeing has also announced plans to launch self-flying taxis by 2030, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion in the US.
The UK is also exploring autonomous transportation options, with driverless robo-taxis expected to hit the streets within three years. The radical Verne self-driving cab will feature no steering wheel, pedals, or dashboard, instead offering a spacious interior and 43-inch screen for entertainment.
