In a shocking turn of events, Douglas Chinoona, 24, has been arrested for faking the robbery of a Toyota Hilux he had hired from Good 2 Go Car Rental. According to the company, Chinoona rented the vehicle on Sunday, October 27, only to report it stolen the very next day, claiming it was taken at a lodge in Mabelreign. He even went so far as to file a police report at Mabelreign Police Station.

However, an investigation by the Vehicle Theft Squad (VTS) revealed a startling truth: Chinoona had staged the entire incident. It was discovered that he had conspired with a friend to illegally export the vehicle to Lusaka, Zambia, where it would be sold. The motive behind this elaborate ruse? Chinoona needed money for lobola (a traditional African bride price), but instead of being honest, he chose to deceive both the car rental company and law enforcement.

Chinoona is now facing serious consequences for his actions, including charges of vehicle theft and providing false information to the police. His arrest serves as a reminder of the severity of such crimes and the importance of honesty in all transactions.
