Our #MCM today is Methembe Walter Ndlovu, popularly known as Blinko, a talented dancer, choreographer, and performer making waves in the entertainment industry.
Born in 1996 in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Blinko grew up with a passion for dance and the arts. He spent his formative years in Bulawayo, where he developed his love for movement and self-expression.
Education played a pivotal role in Blinko’s journey. He attended primary and secondary school in Bulawayo before moving to South Africa to pursue higher education. He enrolled at the University of Pretoria, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Drama and Film Studies.
During his time at university, Blinko honed his craft, working with various dance companies as a choreographer and dancer. His talent and dedication caught the attention of industry professionals, leading to collaborations with renowned artists such as AKA, Manu Worldstar, Moozlie, and Rouge.
Under the guidance of Rouge Music Entertainment in Johannesburg, Blinko’s career flourished. He became the head choreographer for South African rapper Rouge and worked on numerous projects, including music videos, live performances, and TV shows.
Blinko’s accomplishments extend beyond his impressive resume. He won the Allstyles Freestyle Dance Championship in Harare, taking home US$250 and a gold medal. This achievement solidified his position as a leading dancer and choreographer in the region.
With his passion for dance as a form of storytelling and self-expression, Blinko continues to inspire and captivate audiences.
