Bulawayo Police Arrest Two in Connection with Fatal Stabbing

Police in Bulawayo have arrested Thamsanqa Ndebele, 26, and Euton Sebatha, 36, in connection with the murder of Inobubele Mhlanga, 23, whose body was found near TM turnoff bus stop in Cowdray Park on November 4, 2024. Mhlanga had suffered a penetrative wound above the right breast and several cuts on both hands.

The breakthrough in the case came when Playmore Mpofu, 27, a suspect in a robbery case, revealed that he had committed robberies with Ndebele and Sebatha in the Cowdray Park area. Following up on this information, police arrested the duo and recovered the flick knife used in the crime. Ndebele confessed to attacking Mhlanga and stealing her handbag containing $30, with Sebatha stabbing her because she had recognized him as a neighbor.

The police have praised the community’s active participation in aiding investigations. The tragic incident highlights the devastating consequences of greed and violence. The suspects’ arrest brings some solace to Mhlanga’s family and community, who are mourning the loss of an innocent life.
