DJ Ribhe, a prominent producer at Chillspot Records, has been remanded in custody pending investigations into rape allegations involving a 14-year-old schoolgirl. The incident allegedly occurred on October 16, when DJ Ribhe, whose real name is Tafadzwa Mandaza, manipulated the minor into consuming an unknown substance and smoking shisha before raping her.
The victim’s father initiated a search party after filing a missing person report, and she was eventually found at DJ Ribhe’s house. When questioned, she disclosed the details of the assault to her father. DJ Ribhe appeared virtually in court, where regional magistrate Tilder Mazhande ordered his continued detention.
DJ Ribhe has been in custody since early November and is expected to remain there for at least a month, with his next court appearance scheduled for December 3. Additionally, DJ Ribhe has changed his legal representation, moving away from attorney Dumisani Mthombeni, known for defending other Chillspot Records artists like DJ Fantan and DJ Levels.
