A bus donated by Wicknell Chivayo to the Johane Masowe church was involved in an accident, veering off the road and coming to a stop in a maize field. The incident occurred while the bus was transporting church members, and fortunately, no one was injured. The driver allegedly lost control of the bus, causing it to swerve into the field and damage the maize crops.
The bus was one of ten vehicles purchased by Wicknell Chivayo for the Johane Masowe Chishanu church. The first three buses, valued at $420,000, were delivered recently, with an additional seven buses on order. Chivayo’s donation was part of his decision to forgo luxury purchases for his birthday and instead give back to the community.
The incident has been widely shared on social media, with photos showing the bus stuck in the maize field surrounded by church members clad in their white regalia. Despite the accident, the bus appears to have suffered minimal damage, and fortunately, no one was injured.
