Tanaka Zivanai, a 32-year-old Zimbabwean man, has pleaded guilty to the murder of 28-year-old Zanele Sibanda in Gloucester earlier this year. Zivanai, of Dora Walk, Tredworth, also admitted to possessing a bladed article in a public place. He entered his guilty plea via video link from prison at Bristol Crown Court on November 27.
The incident occurred on August 27, when police were called to the junction of Paul Street and Tarrington Road in Tredworth at around 1:45 am. Upon arrival, they found that a man had attacked a woman, later identified as Zanele Sibanda. Zivanai was subsequently charged with Sibanda’s murder.
Zivanai’s guilty plea brings some closure to the family and friends of Zanele Sibanda.
