In a significant boost to their Premier Soccer League ambitions, Scottland FC has secured a US$1 million sponsorship deal with IIMC Communications, a company owned by businessman Sir Wicknell Chivhayo. This deal comes hot on the heels of a US$1.5 million sponsorship agreement with Sakunda Holdings, announced just a day earlier.
The substantial investment is a testament to the growing reputation of Scottland FC, who are making their debut in the Premier Soccer League. Last season, the team, then competing in the Northern Region Soccer League, made headlines by offering its players lucrative bonuses, including cars. With these new sponsorship deals, Scottland FC has cemented its position as one of the best-funded teams in the league.
Scottland FC chairman Tonderayi Sakupwanya expressed his gratitude to IIMC Communications, saying the sponsorship deal was “not just a business transaction, but a declaration of faith in our potential, our ambitions, and our shared vision.” He added that the deal was a commitment to a vision, a dream, and a community that believes in the power of football to inspire, unite, and uplift.
