#WCW – Trish Hakata – Transformative leader and Impact Entrepreneur

Trish Hakata is a transformative leader, renowned for her work in empowering women and youth through entrepreneurship. After leaving a successful banking career she founded The GoGetter Movement and 23onOxford, a business hub supporting female-owned enterprises in Zimbabwe. Trish’s entrepreneurial innovation includes creating Zimbabwe’s first farm to fork restaurant. Thymeless Gourmet, which earned her several prestigious awards she also designed the GoGetter planners and gifts, expanding her influence in business and leadership.
Trish’s impact is further recognized through accolades such as Zimbabwe’s 30 under 30. As a Mandela Washington Fellow and Gender Liaison officer for the African Union Youth Envoy, her leadership transcends borders, championing Gender equality and youth Empowerment across Africa.

At 22, Trish was one of the 15 young aspiring entrepreneurs selected for the AIM (Acceleration Incubation Mentorship) program sponsored by the World Bank. Gumiguru Inc in 2018, listed her as one of the 40 emerging leaders under 30 in Zimbabwe. She was a finalist for the CBZ Bank Youth Entrepreneurship Program in 2018. In 2019 she was awarded Ten Outstanding Young Persons in Zimbabwe by JCI International. In 2021 Gumiguru Inc. awarded her again for excellence in entrepreneurship and she received a Tony Elumelu award for entrepreneurship award in the same year.

Trish was the youngest Area Director for Toastmasters International for the years 2019-20. She is a Mandela Washington Fellow who was selected under President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative and was appointed by the UNWomen and currently serves as a steering committee member for the African Women Leaders Network (AWLN) Zimbabwe Chapter representing young women in business.

Currently Trish is focusing on contributing and serving in organisations that prioritise youth development and women’s inclusion. She serves as the Past Curator of the Global Shapers Community: Harare hub, an initiative of the World Economic Forum. Trish also volunteers as the Gender Liaison officer under the office of the African Union Special envoy on youth.
