The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has commenced the rehabilitation of the ZIFA Village in Mount Hampden, thanks to funding from the FIFA Forward Programme. This project aims to revamp the facilities at the village, which serves as a hub for football development in the country. Phase 1 of the project is expected to be completed within 70 days.
During this initial phase, the focus will be on refurbishing the boarding house and transforming the technical centre into a modern block and conference room. This will provide a conducive environment for footballers, coaches, and officials to train, learn, and develop their skills. The upgraded facilities will also enable ZIFA to host international matches and tournaments, promoting football development in Zimbabwe.
The rehabilitation of the ZIFA Village is a significant milestone for Zimbabwean football, and ZIFA is committed to ensuring the successful completion of the project. With the support of FIFA and other stakeholders, ZIFA is confident that the revamped facilities will contribute to the growth and development of football in Zimbabwe, ultimately benefiting the country’s footballers, coaches, and fans.
