Fadzai Chimboza, a woman from Warren Park 1, has been accused of repeatedly assaulting a 10-year-old youngster. The youngster and their parents reside in a home owned by Chimboza’s grandfather. According to court testimony, Chimboza allegedly dragged the youngster into her room after they returned from school in April last year.

The court heard that Chimboza instructed the youngster to sleep on the bed after removing their clothes. These disturbing allegations have led to Chimboza’s detention until January 29, as ordered by Regional Magistrate Tilda Mazhande. Due to the severity of the charges, which fall under a third schedule offence, Chimboza has been advised to seek bail consideration from the High Court.

The case has sparked concern about child safety and the need for vigilance in preventing such heinous crimes. While details of the case are still emerging, one thing is clear: the protection of children from abuse and exploitation must remain a top priority for communities and authorities alike.
