Zimbabwe national team coach Michael Nees has justified his decision to include Khama Billiat and five other Scotland-based players from Scottland FC in the Warriors squad for the World Cup qualifiers. Nees also defended his decision to call up Simba Bhora defender Isheanesu Mauchi for the first time. The 22-year-old impressed the coach with his performances last season, playing a crucial role in Simba Bhora’s championship win. Nees noted that Mauchi has a good defensive record and has shown versatility by playing wing-back. Simba Bhora’s pre-season training camp in South Africa also reinforced Nees’ decision to include Mauchi.

Mauchi expressed his gratitude and excitement at being called up to the national team, saying it’s a “dream come true.” He credited God, his family, Coach Nees, and the Simba Bhora family for their support. Mauchi is eager to make the most of the opportunity and is confident that he is ready to contribute to the team.
