In Zimbabwe, the International Day of Forests is celebrated annually on March 21st. The government, through the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Climate and Rural Resettlement, collaborates with various stakeholders, including the Forestry Commission, the Zimbabwe Forest Commission, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to organize events and activities to promote the importance of forests and trees.

Some of the activities that have been held in Zimbabwe to commemorate the International Day of Forests include:

Tree planting ceremonies
Forestry exhibitions
Environmental education and awareness campaigns
Community outreach programs
Research and development initiatives

The Forestry Commission of Zimbabwe has also launched several initiatives to promote sustainable forest management and conservation, including the development of a National Forest Policy and a Forest Act.

In addition, various NGOs and community-based organizations in Zimbabwe have been working to promote forest conservation and sustainable livelihoods, including the Zimbabwe Environmental Law Association (ZELA), the Forest Products Association of Zimbabwe (FPAZ), and the Community-Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) program.
