Andie Kuipers, Zimbabwe’s top triathlete, won gold in the U23 Women’s category at the 2025 Africa Triathlon Championships in South Africa. Despite struggling with an Achilles injury, Kuipers dominated the competition, completing the race in 02:17:18. This victory secured her a berth at the World Championships in Wollongong, Australia, later this year.
Kuipers focused on her swim and bike disciplines to compensate for her limited running training, achieving one of the fastest bike times and holding her lead throughout the race. Her win has boosted her confidence, and she aims to qualify for the 2028 Olympic Games.
