Our #WCW today is Tapiwa Gandidze, a Zimbabwean Labour and Employment attorney making waves in South Africa. With over 19 years of post-qualification experience, she has established herself as a leading expert in her field.
Tapiwa holds an LLB (Hons) cum laude degree from the University of Fort Hare and an LLM in International Trade Law degree from the University of Stellenbosch. Her academic background and professional expertise have enabled her to advise various clients, including trade unions, corporates, and government institutions.
Tapiwa commenced her career in 2003 as a candidate attorney at a prestigious law firm. She later joined a boutique law firm, rising to the position of Director in 2009. In 2022, she joined another prominent law firm before founding TCG Attorneys in July 2023, providing expert legal services to clients in South Africa and maintaining ties to her Zimbabwean roots.
Tapiwa has been recognized by Best Lawyers as one of the best labour and employment lawyers in South Africa. She has also been invited to act as a Judge of the Labour Court of South Africa and has lectured labour law to tertiary students.
Tapiwa strongly believes in giving back to the community. She is involved in several non-profit organizations, including the African Policing Civilian Oversight Forum (APCOF) and the Rape Crisis Centre Cape Town Trust.
