Police in Masvingo Province have initiated an investigation following a tragic house fire in Chiredzi that left an unidentified individual burnt beyond recognition.
The fire, which occurred on March 13, shocked the local community as residents learned of the fatal blaze. Inspector Kudakwashe Dewa, the Masvingo provincial police spokesperson, confirmed that inquiries into the cause of the fire and the victim’s identity are ongoing.”Investigations are progressing, and we are still evaluating the extent of the damage. More information will be provided in due course,” Inspector Dewa stated.
Authorities have not revealed the exact location of the house or whether foul play is suspected. Forensic experts are reportedly conducting DNA analysis and other procedures to identify the deceased.Residents of Chiredzi expressed their shock and called on the police to expedite the investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
