Nedbank sponsors long distance runner Isaac Mpofu, in preparation for Paris 2024
Marathon specialist Isaac Mpofu received sponsorship for his 2024 Paris Olympic Games preparations from Nedbank as they gave him a cheque of US$10,000.
The sponsorship package will cover training facilities and logistical support for the long-distance runner.
Nedbank Zimbabwe revealed that they hope to support Mpofu so that he can give his best at the Olympics.
“We aim to help Isaac so that he focuses ahead of the Olympics hence we have covered up areas in which he needs support as he prepares.
“All we want is to see him doing the best and raise the country’s flag high,” said Nedbank Zimbabwe head of treasury Latifa Kassim.
Isaac Mpofu, born in 1988, is a Zimbabwean long-distance runner who specialises in the marathon. He represented Zimbabwe at the 2019 World Athletics Championships, competing in the men’s marathon. He finished in 52nd place. He also represented Zimbabwe at the 2022 World Athletics Championships, in the men’s marathon where he finished in 10th place
