Did you know that Zimbabwe was one of the first countries in sub-Saharan Africa to introduce television? On November 14, 1960, television was launched in Salisbury (now Harare), followed by Bulawayo seven months later.

Zimbabwe was a pioneer in Southern Africa, beating South Africa to the punch by 16 years! Nigeria was the only other country in sub-Saharan Africa with a television service at the time.

The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) has been broadcasting for over 60 years, providing entertainment, news, and information to the nation.
