A gang of three robbers wearing balaclavas carried out a daring heist in Kanengoni village, Chiweshe, on July 6. The thieves broke into a house through a broken window and attacked the owner, making off with a staggering 85kg of gold worth $6.5 million.
The robbers, armed with machetes, ransacked the house and stole an additional $6,500. The gold was hidden in a wooden cabinet, but the thieves seemed to know exactly what they were looking for. The homeowner was left shaken but unharmed.
Police are investigating the incident, but so far, no arrests have been made. The brazen robbery has left the community on high alert, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
