Sikandar Raza Makes History; Becomes First Zimbabwean To Special Feat

Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza achieved the milestone of 5000 T20I runs during yesterday’s match against India, scoring 15 runs from 16 balls in the third T20I.

Raza now holds the distinction of being the first Zimbabwean cricketer to reach 5000 runs in the T20 format. India won the game for 23 runs after Zimbabwe failed to chase 183 runs target.

Sikandar Raza reached this milestone in 243 innings, maintaining a strike rate of over 134 and an average of approximately 25.

Of these 5000 runs, 2000 were scored while representing the Zimbabwe national team. Known for his versatility, Raza has recorded 30 half-centuries in his career, with his highest score being 95. He also contributes effectively with the ball.

Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza has played 89 T20 matches for Zimbabwe, scoring nearly 2000 runs overall, a feat unmatched by any other Zimbabwean batter who has not surpassed 1700 runs for the team. Raza has recorded 14 half-centuries for Zimbabwe, achieving a highest score of 87.
