In a bid to boost trade and tourism, Air Zimbabwe is working to resume direct flights between Harare and London. This move will not only benefit Zimbabweans but also travelers from neighboring countries who currently have to transit through other hubs. By cutting out the need for layovers, passengers will save time and money.
The resumption of direct flights is part of Zimbabwe’s Open Skies Policy, aimed at increasing global connectivity and access to new markets. With its central location in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region, Zimbabwe is poised to become a key hub for flights to the UK.
Air Zimbabwe is leading the charge, with plans to resume flights from Harare to Johannesburg on July 29. The airline will also restart direct flights from Harare to London soon. Meanwhile, Uganda Airlines has announced new services to Harare, further expanding the city’s connectivity.
