Bulawayo has been struck by another daring robbery, marking the second major heist in less than a month. On October 15, 2024, seven armed men stormed a steel company in Belmont, making off with USD 32,500 and ZAR 300 in cash.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) reported that the suspects, armed with pistols and a pick, targeted the company’s finances in the overnight robbery. This latest incident raises concerns about the escalating crime wave in Bulawayo and the effectiveness of security measures.

The ZRP has urged anyone with information regarding the robbery to come forward. “We are working tirelessly to apprehend the suspects and recover the stolen funds,” said a police spokesperson. As investigations continue, businesses and residents are on high alert, seeking reassurance that authorities will curb the growing trend of armed robberies in the city.
