Award-winning hip-hop artist Nadia Nakai is set to give fans an intimate look into her life with her new MTV Base reality show, “Nadia Beyond Bragga”. The show promises drama, authenticity, and a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the South African music industry.
“Nadia Beyond Bragga” will follow Nakai’s musical journey, personal struggles, and coping with the loss of her partner, rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes. The 34-year-old rapper assured fans that they will see a side of her they haven’t seen before, describing her life as “like a movie” filled with drama.
The reality show will feature Nakai’s inner circle, including her family, friends, and manager Phindile Matroshy. Viewers will get to see how she navigates the music industry, her creative process, and the support system that keeps her going. Nakai aims to debunk the notion that succeeding in the industry is easy.
Nakai has previously appeared on Netflix’s “Young, African & Famous”, but “Nadia Beyond Bragga” marks her first solo reality show venture. She expressed excitement about showcasing her authenticity and creativity. The show’s purpose, she says, is simply to share her life outside of the entertainment world.
Despite being followed by a camera crew, Nakai felt comfortable, attributing it to her experience as a musician. She hopes viewers will resonate with her show, but emphasizes that her primary goal was to share her true self.
Apart from the reality show, Nakai has been busy in the music scene, releasing two new singles – “Missing You” featuring Shekhinah, and “M.E.G.A” featuring Cindii Masina. These tracks are part of her upcoming tribute album to AKA, titled “Braggacy”, set to drop later this month.
