The Zimbabwe Republic Police has taken swift action against corruption, arresting two officers caught taking bribes from public transport vehicles near the Mabvuku turn-off along Harare-Mutare Road.
Sergeant Chifamba and Constable Gunzva were exposed through a viral social media video showing them accepting money from conductors and drivers. This incident highlights the police force’s commitment to addressing corruption and maintaining public trust.
According to police spokesperson Paul Nyathi, “These are bad apples who do not deserve to be serving in the Police Service”. The ZRP has taken decisive action, detaining the officers and charging them with disciplinary and criminal offenses.
