The design of the Zimbabwean dollar banknotes is also noteworthy. The main illustration on the obverse of the banknotes featured the Chiremba Balancing Rocks in Epworth, Harare. These rocks were used as a metaphor to demonstrate the importance of balancing development and environmental preservation.
The reverse side of the dollar notes often illustrated the culture or landmarks of Zimbabwe, showcasing the country’s rich heritage. Despite its eventual demise due to hyperinflation, the Zimbabwean dollar remains an important part of the country’s economic history.
