Gospel musician Mambo Dhuterere’s marriage is reportedly on the rocks, with his wife Dorcas Vambe, also known as Mai Dhuterere, claiming he abandoned her while she’s pregnant and caring for their four children. Mai Dhuterere says she’s struggling financially and showing signs of depression due to the lack of support from her husband. The tension allegedly escalated after Mambo Dhuterere failed to acquire a car from Sir Wicknell Chivayo, which he blamed on his wife, claiming she was bad luck.

Mai Dhuterere disputes this, stating that the couple’s issues began when Dhuterere started acting strangely upon learning of her pregnancy. She expressed her distress, stating, “I have been keeping this to myself because of my condition. I don’t want to be depressed and end up losing our unborn child.” The situation allegedly worsened after Mai Dhuterere’s arrest and court appearance over a US$16,000 fraud case, which some claim prompted Dhuterere to leave the family home.

Mambo Dhuterere and Mai Dhuterere settled together when she had a child from a previous relationship, and they later agreed to adopt another child. Despite building a life together, including acquiring a residential stand in Harare that remains undeveloped, their relationship has apparently unraveled. Mambo Dhuterere declined to comment on the matter when contacted, leaving Mai Dhuterere’s claims unaddressed.
